Everything you need to know about the departments and the professors that our institution offers.

Overview

The Department of Entomology plays a vital role in agricultural and allied sciences by focusing on the study of insects and their interactions with crops, ecosystems, and human activities. It addresses both the harmful and beneficial roles of insects in agriculture, emphasizing sustainable pest management and environmental safety.

Key Areas of Study

Insect Morphology & Taxonomy

Learn about the physical structure and classification of insects.

Insect Physiology & Ecology

Study how insects function and interact with their environments.

Insect Toxicology & Biological Control

Explore the chemicals on insects and natural methods for pest control.

Integrated Pest Management (IPM)

Focus on eco-friendly, sustainable strategies for pest management.

Special Emphasis Is Placed on Beneficial Insects

Pollinators

Predators & Parasitoids

Silkworms

These insects contribute to crop productivity and support rural livelihoods.

Education & Training

The department provides both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience, preparing graduates to diagnose pest problems and design eco-friendly management strategies. Students are equipped with the skills to offer science-based solutions to farmers.

Research & Extension

Research and extension activities, the department actively contributes to food security, climate-resilient agriculture, and sustainable farming practices. It promotes the responsible use of pesticides, conservation of natural enemies, and the adoption of innovative pest management technologies.
