About Department

The Department of Environmental Science plays a pivotal role in addressing contemporary environmental challenges by focusing on the study of natural resources, ecosystems, environmental quality, and human–environment interactions. The department integrates principles of agriculture, ecology, chemistry, biology, climate science, and sustainability to promote environmentally sound and climate-resilient development.

The department provides strong theoretical foundations and practical training in core areas such as environmental chemistry, soil and water conservation, air and water quality assessment, climate change, biodiversity conservation, environmental impact assessment (EIA), waste management, renewable energy, and sustainable agriculture. Emphasis is placed on understanding environmental problems at local, regional, and global scales and developing science-based solutions.

Through teaching, research, and extension activities, the department aims to develop skilled graduates capable of environmental monitoring, impact assessment, natural resource management, and policy support. The department actively contributes to sustainable agriculture, environmental protection, climate change adaptation and mitigation, and natural resource conservation by promoting eco-friendly technologies, environmental awareness, and responsible stewardship of ecosystems.

Department Activities
